The Fountain Inn Garden Club was established in 1954. It became a Federated Club in 1962. This organization has worked tirelessly over the decades to create beauty in the lives of its members and the community. Charter members were included Mrs. A. D. Cannon, Mrs. J.A. Fulmer, Sr., Miss Fern Garrett, Mrs. W.B. Knight, Mrs. A.S. Peden, Mrs. R.L. Pettit, Miss Susie Sloan, and Mrs. O.C. Woods.
What a joy it has been for the hundreds of members who have shared their talents in floral design, worked on many projects involving local and state entities, created lovely garden spaces, shared time with those who needed an extra gift of beauty in their lives, and strengthened the community spirit of this wonderful small town over the past 60 years! By the mid-90's, the FIGC was well-known throughout the entire state of South Carolina for the work done by the club members. Numerous awards from the National Garden Club, the Garden Club of South Carolina, the West Piedmont District, and the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs have been earned by our club. We proudly list them in the Awards section, which can be found in the search bar at the top of the Home page.
In October, 2015, we will be celebrating our 60th Anniversary! Please plan to join us to celebrate this special event with us!
